St. John’s Jesuit Online TRIP (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)

St. John’s Jesuit has decided to offer its families the opportunity to participate in St. John’s Jesuit Online TRIP. The program is described below. We are making this program available to assist in reducing your annual tuition costs. Please consider carefully all the materials provided and register today.

What is TRIP?

Our TRIP program provides our families the opportunity to purchase “scrip”.

Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to buy food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn a percentage of the amount as a credit toward your tuition responsibilities at St. John’s Jesuit.

How do you earn credit?

As a non-profit organization, we use various vendors to provide the opportunity for you to purchase certificates and gift cards from grocery stores, department stores, and other local and national retailers. Because these cards are purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount.

When St. John’s Jesuit TRIP buys the certificates, we take advantage of this discount. We then resell the certificates for the full face value to you. You receive a portion of the discount – often from two to fifteen percent or more – as a credit to your St. John’s Jesuit account (or an account of your designation). A small percentage (15% of the total tuition credit amount) is retained by SJJ TRIP to cover administrative fees and supplies.

How do I enroll?

There are two ways for you to enroll:

How can I apply my credit?

The credits earned will be applied to the youngest/only St. John’s student. Credits earned throughout the 2008/2009 school year will be applied in the 2009/2010 school year. At your option you may designate another student’s/family’s account for credit earned, however, no credit will be applied mid-year nor will credits earned in this fashion be transferred.

When do I receive my credit?

SJJ TRIP will provide a report to the school accounting office. They will audit the account statement for accuracy. These credits will be applied to your account annually.

Which retailers are included?

Please see the list provided. Retailers and their percentages can change, so please check the list often. You may also utilize the providers websites for updates. Don’t see a particular retailer? Let us know. We cannot guarantee it, but perhaps one of our suppliers can get those certificates, or will add them if requested.

When is my order due?

All orders are due online by 8 AM on Monday with the check or money order in the amount owed in the business office, or online credit card payment at the time of order or as noted in the TRIP calendar. Due to supplier restrictions, late orders will be processed in the following period. The business office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please DO NOT contact the business office with regard to TRIP orders.

When can I pick up my order?

We expect to have orders available for pick up in the business office on Thursday between the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 pm of the same week ordered or as noted in the TRIP calendar. We would ask for your patience when picking up orders as we will do our best to supply the office with the completed orders in a timely fashion. These are always subject to suppliers and delivery factors which may at times be out of our control.
